How to Read 4D Results: Prizes, Special and Consolation Explained

· 5 min read

Every 4D draw produces 23 winning numbers. They look the same on every operator's results card, so once you know the layout you can read Magnum, Sports Toto, Da Ma Cai, Sabah 88, STC and Cash Sweep results the same way.

The five prize groups

PrizeNumbersBig paysSmall pays

2nd Prize1RM1,000RM2,000
3rd Prize1RM500RM1,000
Special10RM180—
Consolation10RM60—
Payouts per RM1 stake, standard Peninsular table.

The top three are shown first and largest. Below them come the ten Special numbers (sometimes called Starter) and the ten Consolation numbers. Within the Special and Consolation groups the order doesn't matter: every number in the group pays the same.

Checking your ticket

  1. Make sure you are looking at the right operator and date. Your ticket shows both.
  2. Look for your exact four digits in the top three first, then in Special and Consolation.
  3. If you played Big, a match anywhere wins. If you played Small, only a 1st, 2nd or 3rd prize match wins.
  4. If you played Box or iBox, check every ordering of your digits, not just the one printed first. The number checker has an “any order” option that does this for you.

Then use the prize calculator to work out the amount for your stake.

The draw number

Each draw has a number such as 5432/26: the running draw count, then the year. It's printed on your ticket and is the surest way to match a ticket to a result, especially when there are special draws close together.

Jackpots and other games

Some results cards also show jackpot pools and other games, such as Sports Toto's 5D and 6D. Those games have their own tickets and prize rules; a normal 4D ticket only wins on the 23 four-digit numbers.

Status labels on this site

We copy results from the operators' official sites within minutes of each draw. If an official result is incomplete or looks malformed, we mark it under review until it is corrected. Whatever you see here, the official result from the operator always takes priority.
