Never Miss a 4D Win: 5 Ways Players Overlook Prizes

· 4 min read

Nobody can make your number more likely to come up. But you can make sure that when it does, you collect. Every year some winning tickets are never claimed, often because the holder looked at the results and didn't spot the win. These are the five most common slips.

1. Only looking at the top three

A Big ticket wins on all 23 numbers, including the ten Special (RM180 per RM1) and ten Consolation (RM60 per RM1) numbers. Those smaller lists are where most Big wins happen, and the easiest place to miss one. How to read 4D results walks through the layout.

2. Only checking the order printed first

With a Box or iBox ticket, any ordering of your digits can win. For 1234 that's 24 numbers to check by eye, and it's easy to miss 3142 in a list of 23. Use “any order” in the number checker and it checks every ordering at once.

3. Checking the wrong company

A ticket only counts against the results of the company that sold it. If you buy from more than one outlet, you may hold tickets for different companies on the same night. Today's results shows all six side by side, so you don't have to visit six websites.

4. Forgetting a special draw

Special draws, usually on a Tuesday, are easy to forget because they fall outside the normal Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday routine. Look at the date and draw number on your ticket and open that day in the results archive.

5. Finding an old ticket too late

Found a ticket in a drawer? Check it straight away: every draw we hold is in the archive by date, and prizes must be claimed within each operator's claim period. After that they're forfeited. See how to claim a prize.

A 20-second routine for draw night

  1. Open today's results once they're out (draws start at 7pm).
  2. Type each ticket number into the checker, switching to “any order” for Box and iBox tickets.
  3. If its latest appearance is tonight, at your ticket's company, you've won. Note the prize.
  4. Work out the amount with the prize calculator, then confirm with the operator's official result.

Quick answers

How do I check if my 4D ticket won?

Match the company and date on your ticket, then look for your number in all 23 winning numbers. The number checker does this instantly, including every ordering for Box and iBox tickets.

Can 4D Watch improve my chances of winning?

No. Nothing changes the odds. What 4D Watch does is help you check tickets accurately so you never miss a prize you've already won.
